As you may know, IberoDocs is a film festival that strives to bring more attention not only to documentary but also to Ibero-American culture. As such, we are obviously aiming to bring diversity and be ever so inclusive in our programmes. This year, we will screen different kinds of films, not only docs but also short fiction films and a fiction feature. You may wonder why. The reason lies in the nature of documentary itself. As all arts and disciplines, cinema is constantly evolving so is documentary which is now opening to dialogue with fiction and animation but also with experimental film or, why not, poetry. For this reason, in this year’s programme we have decided to embrace different genres to bring you a bit more diversity without betraying our own identity.
