Experience an amazing, unique Afro-Brazilian cultural art in this workshop by Cordão de Ouro-Glasgow Capoeira

Capoeira was developed by African slaves in colonial Brazil to preserve their traditional ways of life and practice self-defence, with movements and training similar to a dance. Performers of Capoeira combine physical movements from martial arts, dance and acrobatics in a ‘roda’ (circle), in connection to live music and singing played with traditional instruments.

This workshop will give you a taste of Capoeira’s unique energy and vibe, teaching you some of the basic movements, rhythms and traditional songs and putting it all together in a roda!
